Overview

Grater Woods Town Forest is a new mountain biking trail network. The New England Mountain Bike Association recently cut a new trail (named Millipede) that is a really nice piece of singletrack. Most of the trails are ATV-wide trails. There are lots of climbs and some fast decents here. Tends to be wet in the Spring and during wet summers.

How To Get There > From Manchester (and Amherst)

Take the 101 West exit off of 293 (bear all the way RIGHT on the exit ramp.) Follow route 101 West for about 6 miles (you'll pass Vista foods then Weathervane) Take a LEFT onto Camp Rd (flashing yellow light) Follow Camp which Turns into Baboosic Lake Rd. Look for YELLOW sharp LEFT turn sign. Turn RIGHT onto S. Baboosic Lake Rd. Continue until you pass a swamp area on your left and right. Go up the steep hill LEFT onto Grater Rd (the sign is covered by leaves and is easy to miss :-() Continue until the road turns to dirt. Park in the turnaround.

> From Milford

Follow Route 101 East for about 4 miles Take a RIGHT onto 122. Bear Left in .4 miles onto Baboosic Lake Rd. Contiue for about 2 miles. There are no good landmarks to give you for the turn. RIGHT onto Grater Rd. There is a sign on the left but it can be covered by leaves at times. (If you go down a very steep hill and back up a very steep hill you went too far by .25 miles. Grater Rd. is on the Merrimack/Amherst town line).
