BICYCLE TRACK TAKES OVER RACEWAY

New England Velodrome on March 27, 2008 It's official, starting April 1, 2008, New England Velodrome & Cycling Park will become the sole tenant of the old Londonderry Raceway.  The go-karts have found a new home, paving the way for NEV&CP to begin modifications that will transform the track into a much more bike friendly facility.  Areas slated for improvement include new spectator seating area, removal of old fencing and tires, concession stand and patching the track surface!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

NEV&CP is looking or volunteers to assist with our improvements.  We are planning a "Work Party" for Saturday and Sunday April 5th & 6th from 9-4PM.  All are welcome and encouraged to come down and help clean up the track.  Stay as long or as little as you're able, any time will be greatly appreciated.  We will provide drinks and snacks throughout the day.  This will also be a time to meet fellow riders and catch -up with those you haven't seen in a while.
Bring rakes, chainsaws, hand saws, shovels, brooms, wheelbarrows, bolt cutters, snow blowers, pick-up trucks and anything else you can think of that would be of use.  And of course, bring your bicycle with the chance the track will be clear and we can get in a few laps.

Also, if anyone has access to a small back hoe or bobcat, please contact me.  NEV&CP will pay for fuel and transportation of that machinery.

We look forward to seeing you all soon and making this season a big transitional year for the New England Velodrome & Cycling Park and our supporters!

The Bell Lap (Our final word for today)

Not only are we working on the track, but we are also making some administrative changes.   We will be posting our schedules on Bike Reg for improved ease of signing up for events and are also looking into a  more efficient "check-in" procedure at the track.  Plans are being made for incresed racing and training times including weekends.  More details to follow in our next news letter
Our new website is also under construction and will soon be connected to our blog.  Speaking of our blog, we invite you to visit and share your comments and insight about the track during the week of March 31- April 5th.  We want your thoughts and comments to better understand what types of changes you'd like to see at the track.  We're interested in what you have to say and will be sure to comment frequently to fuel the conversation.  Can't wait to hear from you!
